Learning Chinese by Segmenting Sentences

The students who just begin to study Chinese may often read the Chinese characters one by one when they are reading. In order to train the habit of expanding the reading visual field, teachers can practice by segmenting the sentences. The long sentences should be divided into several fragments and scattered in different lines, forming the clause with words or rhythms as the units. After flashing before students who study Chinese for a while, teachers will ask them to write down the sentences and finally dictate the whole paragraph.

In the aspect of ability of describing with Chinese language, teachers can practice them by describing the features of certain person. When you go study in Chinese program in China, teachers will ask you to describe and portray one of your classmates with 100 to 200 words within 15 or 20 minutes. After finished, the students who study Chinese should read what they write and the others guess the students according to the descriptions. It would better if the students emphasize the characteristics but not just appearance in the portrayal.
