Christmas Celebration

Author:Keats Chinese Language School | Date:2012-01-12 09:45:05|Read: 248

Every year Keats School holds many activities and invites all students and teachers to join in. There was a big activity was held to celebrate the Christmas of 2011.

In the past years, Keats chose KTV, minority restaurant, day trip, and so on as our celebration. But, this time, we had a different place to celebrate – a Nong Jiale restaurant which offered all dishes from farm and used farmer`s cooking way to cook. We knew that all of our students who came to China to study Chinese would like to experience the real local life. And actually, if you come to China to study Chinese, it is important for you to experience the farmer`s life which is total different from city`s life. However, the farm normally is far away from downtown and it is hard for the foreign students to go. In order to offer more interesting life in Kunming to our students, we found the restaurant and invited all teachers and students to go to try the different Chinese foods. More than 50 people took part in this activity. Once everyone entered the restaurant, they were attracted by the interesting decoration: many green plants on the ceiling looked like you were in a garden; the grass-made chair looked very cute and comfortable, and what`s more, more than 10 the dishes and beers each table made everyone slobber. All the vegetables were picked that day morning in the farm and all meats were fresh too which also directly delivered to the restaurant. The dishes taste was different from daily Chinese foods.

All students and teachers were not only enjoyed the delicious foods, but also had a very good time as well. They talked with each other, joked, played games, and took photos. When the dinner finished, many teachers and students mentioned this meal made the 2011 meaningful and interesting. Many people had never attended any activity like that, so they would remember this wonderful experience.
