Guoqing Temple in Zhejiang Province

As a famous Buddhism temple in China, Guoqing Temple is located in the north of Tiantai Mountain in Zhejiang province. Students who study Mandarin in China may be told that it is the origin place of the Tiantai Sect. it is also regarded as the birthplace sect by Tiantai Sect in Japan.

When you come to learn Chinese in China, you should know that the Guoqing Temple was originally built in the beginning of Sui Dynasty. Then, several times’ reconstruction has been done during the period of Tang, Song, Yuan and Ming dynasties. When you study Chinese in China, you should know the existing one was built in Yongzheng Period of Qing Dynasty. The main architectures are Maitreya Hall, Yuhua Hall, Mahavira Hall, Goddess of Mercy Hall, Bell Pavilion and Drum Pavilion and so on.

If you ever been to Guoqing Temple when you learn Chinese in China, you can see there is an ancient plum in the temple, which was planted by the first monk in charge of this temple. Besides, there are also many other Buddhism temples that students can go like Shaolin Temple.
