Soft Dance Named Spring Oriole's Song

The Spring Oriole‘s Song was a famous soft dance originated in Tang Dynasty. When you come to study Chinese in China, you may be told that it originated from the Gao Emperor of Tang period who heard the oriole was singing in the morning, forming beautiful rhythm. Then the emperor ordered musician Bai Mingda to compose it into a song and also perform it in dance.

Some of the students who learn Chinese in China may be told that the sift dance Spring Oriole‘s Song was ever introduced to North Korea and Japan. However, the dance was different with the former one in styles and expression forms when it was introduced into Japan. When you study Mandarin in China, you should know the dance in China was soft dance performed by lady while that in Japan was danced by men.

In the middle of Tang Dynasty, the Hu Dance was very popular, making great influence on the development of Spring Oriole‘s Song. Therefore, students who learn Chinese in China may be told that this kind of dance couldn‘t be seen in Song period.
